BitlBee brings IM (instant messaging) to IRC clients. It's a great solution for people who have an IRC client running all the time and don't want to run an additional MSN or AIM or whatever client.

Application Description

BitlBee currently supports the following IM networks and protocols: XMPP or Jabber (including Google Talk), MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM and ICQ, and the Twitter microblogging network (plus all other Twitter API compatible services like identi.ca and status.net).

dialog called "Bind" by Spencer - Feb 29, 2012

When I attempt to run this, it produces a dialog with the text "Bind", and won't launch.

Some of the free apps are only free for personal, not commercial, use. Be sure to read and comply with all license requirements.
